The Town: Guareña.

The town of Guareña, with approximately  7.500 inhabitants, is at present one of the most representative towns in Lower Extremadura, and offers the visitors a peaceful, rural and hospitable environment.

Its church Santa María, pertaining to the Renaissance period with gothic reminiscence, of extraordinary proportions, raises magestically over the rest of the urban development organization of  farmer large houses of the XVI to XVIII centuries.
It is also worthwhile visiting the Town Hall building, which rises not far away from the church, with its  façade with elegant and sober, classical design built in granite ashlar, its strong overhanging cornice tops out with Herrerian style round ornamental elements and its central atrium.

Its wide perpendicular and plain streets invite you to get lost in a peaceful walk being able to relax and breathe pure air under the Extremaduran blue sky, or to enjoy its "fiestas" and traditions.
